This session will provide practical strategies for scaffolding complex, content-specific texts to support multilingual learners in secondary classrooms. Participants will explore how to break down disciplinary texts, build background knowledge, and design reading tasks that promote comprehension and language development—without lowering rigor. Aligned with the California ELA/ELD Framework, this session will help teachers create more inclusive, literacy-rich learning experiences for all students.
