In the digital age, it seems more challenging than ever to engage students in the study of complex texts and to encourage them to collaborate. During this two-part session, participants will experience engaging and dynamic strategies that empower students to take on the heavy lifting of comprehension and analysis—all while having fun. Utilizing performance activities developed by practitioners at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London, participants will learn a variety of approaches that help bring everything from Shakespeare’s works to primary source documents to life. Come ready to play, perform, discuss, and plan! Please wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely and bring along any reading lessons or units you’d like to infuse with new life.
